Welcome Future Mulch!
Yes, it's true! We now sell Future Mulch® and with the superior look of our product and the new pricing being as much as 20% less than our old prices, it makes sense to call us to order product today! We don't have color premiums either! All colors are the same price, unlike our old product line that made you pay a hefty premium if you didn't want brown. We use a high grade version of the same raw material you may have used before, so you can be assured you're going to get product that matches your existing product, and if you're a new customer, you can relax knowing what you're getting is the best on the market at the best price!

How long will it be before the color fades on Future Mulch?
We use a special coating that has been lab-tested at 20 years;
the product still looks like new after 10 years in use all
over the USA.
|
Is it good for my plants?
Yes! Future Mulch retains moisture through the use of a 'vapor barrier'
for optimal plant growth, whereas wood mulch absorbs water the sun
evaporates in a continuous cycle, robbing the plants of water, nitrogen and potassium, all critical for the health of your plants and flowers. Also, wood mulch can generate heat and acids that can burn your plants' root system causing even more harm.
|
Is it going to wash away?
NO! Because Future Mulch is nearly five times heavier than wood
mulch, it stays in place much better and since it doesn't float, it will stay put, even during thunderstorms that routinely wash wood mulch down the storm drains. Future Mulch is also great on inclines and areas with sufficient water.
|
Will Future Mulch attract termites?
No! Generally, insects of all kinds do not live in Future Mulch. This makes our product ideal around homes and other structures
where termites and other wood eating insects may cause serious damage.
|
|
Will Future Mulch help keep weeds down?
Yes, although it does not eliminate weeds away completely, you will
find a reduction in well over 80-90% weed growth the first year and
even less over the next few years. Future Mulch will not break down
or decompose providing a rich organic environment for weeds to grow
in as traditional wood mulch would. It is not recommended that a
landscaping fabric be used to as this will cause problems of it's own
as the fabric decomposes away leaving remnants of fabric sticking up
everwhere. If a weed control substance is preferred, this could be
sprayed directly over Future Mulch with out the worry of affecting its
color.
|
Is Future Mulch expensive?
Yes and No. The product is 3-4 times the cost of wood mulch,
but it lasts for 20 years or longer. When you consider that
pine straw and wood mulch fade after 2 months and Future Mulch
hasn't faded even after 5-10 years, you can appreciate the aesthetic
value this will add to your home.
|
What's the REAL COST COMPARISION?
Let's be honest here. I get asked all the time what Future Mulch costs. Certainly this is a valid question, but the answer isn't as simple as you might suspect. When you put wood mulch down, it lasts a few months. But to COMPARE pricing, the chart below shows how many times you'd need to re-mulch compared to ONE application of Future Mulch. |
Would anyone really DO six annual re-mulch jobs? Of course not, but to
accurately compare what you get from each product, this shows what it
takes to keep your landscape or playground LOOKING the same. Maybe it's
a silly comparision, but when you understand how many applications of your
favorite wood mulch you'd need to maintain the vibrance of the color, the
incredible look of Future Mulch, AND all the benefits to your plants and
home, you'll realize this is a fantastic alternative to wood mulch at a
price that's actually quite reasonable!
So when you ask for current pricing, remember the cost of wood mulch is
for two months while the cost of Future Mulch is for 20 years! The chart on the right is actually now outdated. With our special coating, you can expect your product to last up to 20 years!
My favorite analogy: What would you do if your
Sears Kenmore refrigerator had to be replaced EVERY 2 months?! Some of you spend that or more on mulch annually! WHY? Because your parents did it, and now you do it! But with Future Mulch you don't have to anymore ...

|
How do you get yard debris off of the mulch?
Future Mulch is heavier than regular wood mulch, therefore
we recommend using a leaf blower on the low setting. This will
remove the debris while leaving the mulch in place.
|
Will the color fade?
No,the colorant applied to the rubber shreds are specifically
designed with a UV protective coating to resist the fading of the sunlight that wood mulch cannot prevent. View Colors
|
How much do I need?
This depends, of course, on several factors. Refer to the
Benefits and Uses for more information
on measuring how much Future Mulch you will need.
|
Where can I get Future Mulch?
Future Mulch is available at select lawn and garden stores.
See the Store Locator to find a store
near you.
|
Will Future Mulch harm my plants?
No, in fact this product will help your plants stay healthy by keeping
moisture and nutrients like potassium and nitrogen in the ground rather than absorbed by the wood mulch.
|
What is the best installation method?
Simply pour right on top of the soil Future Mulch 2" thick. You can also use Preen, which is a time release weed killer for great results without putting down garden fabric. Visit our installation page for more tips!
